We have organized this Leggett & Platt Williamsburg adjustable bed review into four major sections. They are:
Let's begin this Williamsburg review by looking at the major benefits of this Leggett and Platt bed.
6 Major Pros of the Leggett & Platt Williamsburg Adjustable Bed
Most adjustable beds have only head tilting. In addition, the Williamsburg comes with pillow tilting which lets you straighten your upper body by an additional 15 degrees raising you up to 75 degrees. Pillow tilting is great if you plan on watching TV from bed, working from bed or having breakfast in bed.
The remote has two buttons for Zero Gravity and Anti-Snore. These are factory preset positions, but you can 'reprogram' them to whatever position you want using the "SET" button on the remote. In comparison, this model has 4 programmable memory positions.
Regular adjustable beds take you away from the nightstand when the upper body is raised. Beds with wall hugging simultaneously slide back while the upper body is being raised so that you stay right next to the nightstand. If you haven't seen our video on the 6 most critical features of adjustable beds, please watch that for an explanation of the benefits of wall hugging.
Two-motor, head and foot dual massage with 'wave' feature. Massage intensity can be adjusted for head and foot regions independently of each other. Massage can be set to automatically turn off (timer). Most adjustable beds have the massage feature these days. However, on some of the cheaply built models, massage is merely a vibration.
The Leggett & Platt Williamsburg adjustable bed shares most of the major features with its extremely popular big brother, the Leggett & Platt Prodigy 2.0, yet is priced approximately $1000 less than its big brother (for a split-king bed)! Here is another similarly priced, high-quality adjustable bed with almost every feature you can imagine. From a price standpoint, the DM9000s is a major competitor to the Williamsburg.
4 Major Cons of the Leggett & Platt Williamsburg Adjustable Bed
Like everything else in life, the Leggett & Platt Williamsburg isn't perfect. While it has the above described pros, it also has the following cons. But most people don't need these following features and will be happy with what the Williamsburg has to offer.
As we mentioned earlier, only the Glideaway brand, one of our top rated adjustable bed manufacturers of 2019, produces beds with elevation lift. Elevation lift allows you to raise your whole body in a Reverse Trendelenburg Position. You don't need this position or the expensive bed unless you have night time heartburn/acid reflux. Both the Glideaway Elevation and Ascend have this articulation.
Today's best adjustable beds come with height-adjustable legs e.g. legs can be adjusted to 5, 7, 9 inches etc. so that people can raise of lower their beds based on personal preference. The Williamsburg has 7" fixed height legs. 99% of the beds (e.g. sleigh beds, wooden frames) come with fixed height legs!
Hope these Pros and Cons have given you a fairly good idea about the major strengths and weaknesses of the Williamsburg adjustable bed. You should understand that none of the 'Cons' we listed are actually weaknesses of the Williamsburg. It doesn't have features like elevation lift and lumbar support and 99% of adjustable bed users won't need them. Only those who have nighttime heartburns and back pains need those features. For the average user, the Leggett & Platt Williamsburg has everything he/she can expect at this competitive price.
Below we summarize the major pros and cons of the L&P Williamsburg adjustable bed frame
The Leggett & Platt Williamsburg would be the go to bed for most adjustable bed shoppers. It lacks certain bells and whistles like elevation lift, lumbar support and furniture-style decking. But, as we point out on our best adjustable bed selection criteria, these 3 features are highly optional. These 3 featurs are required by certain categories of people.
So, if you don't belong to any of the above 3 categories, the Williamsburg adjustable bed will do just fine. Hope this Williamsburg Plus adjustable bed review helped you make the right decision and please let us know whether you found it useful or not!!
Happy adjustable bed shopping!
Here we compare the relatively new Leggett & Platt Williamsburg Plus adjustable base to its older brothers Prodigy 2.0 and S-Cape 2.0.
