Major Pros of the Reverie 8Q Adjustable Bed

Reverie 8Q Adjustable Bed Review

  1. Pillow tilting: we’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, pillow tilting is an awesome feature to have. Traditionally, adjustable beds only had the foot tilt and the head tilt. 2016-2017 saw the introduction of pillow tilting by a few manufacturers including Reverie. It’s simply an additional level of tilting that helps you straighten your head even further. This especially helps if you would use your new bed for reading, watching TV, working on your laptop etc. As we mentioned on our Reverie 9T adjustable bed review, unfortunately, Reverie didn’t include pillow tilting on the beautiful 9T.Reverie 8Q Pillow Tilting
  2. Pre-set memory positions: adjustable bed remote controllers have two types of memory positions nowadays. Almost all adjustable beds out there come with at least a couple of pre-set memory positions these days. In other words, instead of having to press the ‘head up’, ‘head down’, ‘feet up’, ‘feet down’ buttons a gazillion times to get that favorite lounging position of yours, you can simply press that pre-programmed ‘lounge memorized position’ on your remote once, and voila, the bed goes to the lounge position in a flash.
    • The Reverie 8Q comes with the following three pre-programmed positions:

      1. Zero-gravity position,
      2. Anti-snore position, and
      3. Flat position

  3. Customizable memory positions: why settle for the preset memory positions Reverie chooses for you? Pick your own favorite position and programme it on to the 8Q remote!! Reverie lets you programme two of your favorite positions. Here you go… a picture is worth a thousand words…

  4. AC outlets: can you believe that Reverie included two A/C power outlets on the remote base? Yes they did! That way, you can plug in your phone charger right on your night stand without having to reach under the bed or behind the nightstand! How convenient is that!

  5. USB ports: some adjustable beds like the Leggett and Platt Prodigy 2.0 have up to 8 USB ports built on to the sides of the bed. Reverie only has one USB port built on to its remote base. However, that one USB port, together with the two power outlets, should take care of your electric charging devices reasonably well.

  6. Massage: The Reverie 8Q comes with 10-speed, dual, upper and lower body therapeutic massage. Similar to the Reverie 9T and the Prodigy 2.0, the 8Q also has the ‘wave massage’ feature. It’s quiet, it’s relaxing and it does the trick at the end of a long, tiring day.

  7. Sleep timer: thanks to the Reverie Nightstand App on the iTunes app store, you can programme the 8Q bed to change positions after a set time (aka sleep timer). Let’s say you’re watching TV and you expect to fall a sleep in 15 minutes. You start watching TV in the sitting up position and set your timer to take your bed to the sleeping position in 15 minutes. 8. Alarm clock: set an alarm that will wake you up with a soothing massage sharp at 6.30am Reverie nightstand alarm clock
  9. Under-bed night light: why bother with a separate night-light when your bed can double as a night-lamp? Reverie 8Q under bed lighting
  10. Height-adjustable legs: some mattresses are only 6 inches thick while others are as much as 15 inches thick. How do you make a bed to suit both mattresses? Simple! Give it height adjustable legs

Major Cons of the Reverie 8Q Adjustable Base

  1. Wall snuggler: the manufacturer says this is a wall snuggler / wall hugger. Reverie is not lying when they say that. However, the degree of wall hugging isn’t quite the same as that on the L&P Prodigy. Check out the image below:

  2. Mattress retaining bars: the all new Reverie 9T has introduced something called ProGripTM which eliminates the need to have mattress retaining bars. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with the 8Q. There are four mattress retaining bars/hooks at each corner of the bed. These absolutely prevent the mattress from sliding out in any direction. However, these can get in the way when you’re tucking in the bed sheets at the found corners. This can be a little annoying at times… especially when you have to deal with them on a daily basis. The ProGrip of the 9T and the MicroHook Retention system of the Prodigy 2.0 are superior to these retainer bars.

Conclusion

The Reverie 8Q is a great adjustable bed. It has many awesome features and we especially love its pillow tilting. Unfortunately, the relatively poor wall hugging is a concern. Since the 8Q is approx. $1000 cheaper than the Leggett and Platt Prodigy 2.0, you may want to give it some serious thought in spite of the poor wall hugging. If you have the extra ca$h, I would certainly recommend you to go with the Prodigy 2.0.
